What does that precious word, FREEDOM, stand for in your life.

And this is something that I’ve been thinking about since May 3, 2009 @ 3:00am CST.

It started while I was thinking about Galatians 2:20:

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives within me; and this life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

The main focus of my pondering was the first line:

I have been crucified with Christ

I started to think about what it meant to be crucified with Christ, in more ways than one, when I had a vision of the cross.

On that cross hung Jesus: The Christ; The Savior King of the world. This is not a Jesus that we see in statues in churches, or in children’s books, where a drips of blood come down from his head, hands, and feet. This was a Jesus who was ripped to shreads by Roman flogging. More than likely his intestines hanging out of his body, his flesh ripped to shreds, his face brutalized, the wood of the cross digging into his exposed body, and blood pouring from every inch. The prophet Isaiah stated of Jesus at the crucifixtion:

Just as many were astonished at you, so His visage was marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men ~Isaiah 52:14

So, we see our Savior hanging on the cross. Most of the time, when we have the image of us and Christ, we think of us looking up from the foot the cross, as the three Marys and the apostle John did: weeping and bawling at the site of their son, teacher, and Savior dying for the sins of the world. I would think that this is the vision that most of us have when we are told to “imagine being at Calvary, watching Jesus die for you.”

Which is painstaking to think about in itself, but I ask you this:

What about the perspective of the thief?

Here is a criminal, a man who knew he DESERVED to die. (see Luke 23:39-43) Who received the revelation that this Man was the Savior of the world. That this Man, who did absolutely nothing wrong, was hanging on the cross, dying for sins started by Adam…which included the sins of the criminal.

Think about this: you’re hanging next to the Christ, knowing that you deserve this death because of your transgressions, while also receiving the understanding that He was so apt to doing His Father’s will, and that He loved you so much, that He’d sacrifice His own life, so that you, a CRIMINAL, may be with Him in paradise.

Maybe you’re in a phase of your life where the fire is gone, and you yearn to reall understand what Christ did for you, and how much He loved you. If that’s you, envision yourself in place of the thief. It may put things into more perspective.

…and every other negative THOUGHT that we let into our SUBCONSCIOUS MIND

This following excerpt is from the “The Master Key System” by Charles F. Haanel, 1917:

“The conscious mind ought to be on duty during every waking hour. When the “watchman” is “off guard,” or when its calm judgment is suspended, under a variety of circumstances, then the subconscious mind is unguarded and left open to suggestion from all sources. During the wild excitement of panic, or during the height of anger, or the impulses of the irresponsible mob, or at any other time or unrestrained passion, the conditions are most dangerous. The subconscious mind is then open to the suggestion of fear, hatred, selfishness, greed, self-depreciation, and other negative forces, derived from surrounding persons or circumstances. The result is usually unwholesome in the extreme, with effects that may endure to distress for a long time. Hence, the great importance of guarding the subconscious mind from false impressions.

This command from Dr. Haanel needs to be applied in EVERY issue in life

Do you want to mend or build personal relationships?

This will help.

Do you want to explode your business?

This is foundational.

How about your MARRIAGE???

Yep, the answer’s the same…

King Solomon put it this way:

“Guard [with your conscious mind] your heart [the subconscious mind] with all diligence, for out of it springs the issues of life”

-Proverbs 4:23

It is up you YOU to, consciously, guard what goes deep into your being.

Most of us (me included) didn’t know this growing up…

…that’s why we act or treat others the way we do…

…that’s why our relationships and businesses fail

…and it’s hard to take care of it now…

…but not impossible.

For all things are possible with He who strengthens me.

Dear Paul,

I love you…a lot, which is why I have to write you this.

You want to have freedom in order to provide for a wife, children, and your family, but your scared.

Why?

You fear just about everything: rejection, poverty, riches, other people’s anger, but you know what it really comes down to?

It comes down to this: you care about what others thing about YOU!

You either care too much, and change to be what others want you to be. This confuses you. I understand.

Or you dress or act in ways that are odd…for shock value.

Because, hey, why should you care what they think? Screw them, right?

But, be real with yourself. You want others to think your odd. Not because you told yourself “you know, I just want to wear my cowboy hat today.”

It’s REALLY because you, still, need others to think of you a certain way.

It all boils down to OTHERS, and not to GOD!

God created you as different. He needed to, because He created you to reach a certain people. If you can’t step into the person that God created you to be, are you actually even doing His will?

If you can’t step into that person, will you succeed on life? Will you be able to be the man your wife needs you to be?

The father your kids need you to be?

The TRUE you?

I write this as a call to repentance.

Repentance, not because you’re a bad person, but because you’ve missed the mark.

Do you sin? Yes, but you also have a repentant heart

A heart that asks forgiveness, turns from that which displeases the Father, and walks uprightly.

You’re a man which the psalmist stated “swears to his OWN hurt, and does not change.”

Now, you MUST act on these things.

I know you WILL

I love you.

I like you.

So much that I’ll live w/ you 24/7

You ARE wealthy

You ARE healthy

You ARE strong

You ARE a child of God

You ARE a good husband

I’ll talk to you in the mirror

So what did we do????

Watched the World Poker Tour

What else???

After about an hour, the table was down to two men

…that’s USUALLY how it is in Texas Hold Em’

After a few rounds of betting

The TWO WORDS that always bring excitement was spoken by a player…

(let’s call him Larry)

…ALL IN…

If you’re not familiar with the poker term “All In”

It means “I bet everything I have”

So, on with the lesson

The other gentleman at the table called

(let’s call him Walter)

The cards were flipped

Walter had a 9 and a 7

Larry a jack and a 9…

And a 70+% chance of winning…

…but then something interesting happened…

…the Larry acted

and spoke

like he had already LOST the match

HE WAS A 70% FAVORITE TO WIN…

…and he acted like he was going to lose

So, three cards were laid down…

(the flop)

It SLIGHTLY favored the second player…

…the ENTIRE TIME Larry had was stating

“The next card is going to be scary”

It was at this time, one of the students softly said

“Larry’s going to lose.”

We all knew it too…

The next card was flipped

(the turn card)

It favored Walter again…

…to have a POSSIBLE open ended straight

Again, Larry was speaking failure into the hand

The FINAL card was flipped

(the River [of dreams])

Sure enough…

…Walter HIT HIS STRAIGHT!!!

Game Over!!

The 70% change of Larry winning was GONE

KA-PUT…

>>>VANISHED<<<

Why?

He SPOKE FAILURE into his life

What’s the point of this lesson?

In our lives, we’ve been programed to fail…

…With corrupt words…

…that we LEARN to bury with THIS

Words like:

I can’t

and I don’t

and I won’t

and how about “That’s SICK!”

(meaning that’s GOOD???)

or “That’s BAD!”

(meaning: that’s GOOD??)

Your words have the POWER to create your future

Or to destroy your future…

…to bring increase…

…or to allow decrease…

Just like Larry the Loser’s words did

Try it!!!

Wake up, all chipper with the sun

And start to confess

“Ahhh, I feel like crap today”

By the end of the day…

…you’ll feel like crap.

“Out of the abundance of YOUR HEART [what's inside you; your subconscious thoughts] the mouth SPEAKS.”

You may have been fooling people

But eventually

If you really DON’T have FAITH in your words…

…the REAL thoughts you THINK about YOU will come out

You were told:

Only to find out that, now, instead of having MULTIPLE streams of income…

…you have only one.

Sounds like…well…like a JOB.
